The trip to New York Yorkshire Terrier Specialty
Available
Day 1st, February 11th, 2010
3 am.
We were ready to start our trip ( We - Ilona Rodionova, Tatyana Kolesnikov and
Inessa Semerenko). Inessa is our friend that loves and take a very good care of
Rigair Mona Lisa (Lisa) (Marshal's sister). All suitcases, grooming tables and bags
were packed in the new Toyota RAV-4, waiting on the driveway. Our young dogs,
Ursa, Lisa and Eureka, prepared for the long trip, were excited to see America.
Their doggy- friends: boys Diesel,  Ariel, Eiger and a girlfriend Katia were happy to
start their first adventure. The ball room of the New Yorker Hotel was waiting for the
new visitors Rigair Kennel from Canada.
The weather was promising snow storms, delays and bad roads. So we decided to
drive through the Albany, and it was really fun. Very nice road, clean, no snow,
sunny. We took four stops to let our fur babies run and do what they need to do :)
The driving was so easy, maybe because of excitement. At 2pm we were in front of
the New Yorker Hotel in Manhattan, New York, USA. We were ready to check in
and looked forward to the first day of the show tomorrow, Friday, February, 12th,
2010.

On Friday, there was no Specialty Show, Only Sweepstakes, which is the Show for puppies. There are
two groups in Sweepstakes: 6 to 9 month old and 9 to 12 month old puppies. Each group is divided into
boys (dogs) and girls (bitches).
The show was held in the same hotel where we stayed, so it was very easy to attend. Just press button in
the elevator and in 1 minute you are here!
For our puppy Rigair Eureka Pure Gold (Eureka) it was her first show. Eureka is from BIS, BISS CH
Durrer's Heirloom and CH Rigair Grazzia Bella.
She turned 6 month old at the 10th of February and in two days she went to such a huge show! At the
beginning she was a little bit shy and confused of so many people and dogs, lights, red carpet. But as
soon as she entered into the ring - she moved and stocked like a real star! Eureka got the first place in
her group in Sweepstakes held by YTCA. She was entered only to one Sweepstake and one Specialty
Show.
We are so proud, not only because it was her first show, also it was a huge concurrence: Best breeders
with their best dogs were there, and the judge Marie Kaufman-Cardona (Yorkie breeder) had chosen our
Eureka as the best among 6-9 month old bitches! 11 puppies were in the ring.
It means a lot for us, thank you, Marie Kaufman-Cardona.
Day 2nd, February 12th, 2010
We were so excited about Eureka's success, that we missed the Progressive Club Show in the Pennsylvania Hotel, where Rigair Ursa
Major was registered. Poor Ursa, she was bathed in the morning, top-knot done....She could have won...

To tell the truth, we were waiting near the ring and didn't hear when the ring Stuart called us... Next time we will be more careful..
Day 3rd, February 13th, 2010
On Saturday we had Ursa (Rigair Ursa Major) entered to the Specialty show, that was held by YTC-GNY
(Yorkshire terrier Club of Greater New York). Ursa is from CH Durrer's Gambol'n Man and CH Rigair
Grazzia Bella. Our dear Ursa decided that there is a nice playground with a nice red carpet! And soon
we will run and play together!!! So while she had to walk nice, she was happily jumping across the ring.
Sometimes she showed to the judge that she is a nice mover... Thank you judge, Carol D. Duffy for your
attention to the dog's quality. And despite of Ursa's bad manners, recognizing her as a 3rd place bitch in
her class. We are very happy and proud, but then we start to think, what place could she have taken with
her good manners?

Day 4th, February 14th, 2010
Sunday started early...
There were three our dogs entered in the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America (YTCA). Rigair Eureka Pure
Gold (Eureka) 6 month old, Rigair Ursa Major (Ursa) 15 month old, Rigair Mona Lisa (Lisa) Open bitch
class. So all our girls were bathed, had their top knot done and....
Eureka got compliments from the judge Ms.S.Goose Allen, she was pleased by nice quality of females in
the ring. Eureka got 3rd place in her class. Next was Ursa entered in the ring. 4th place in her class.
Our Lisa, recently had her first litter of two handsome boys. Showed, that she is not only a good caring
mom, she is a perfect show dog. She entered to the ring without any doubt. She took attention of the judge
immediately and took the 2nd place in her class! What a great success!
Next morning, Monday, 5th of February we started our way back home...
We were tired, but happy. We've met in person with so many great breeders, saw their beautiful dogs and,
showed our beautiful females.
